The following information was supplied by Redwood Veterinarians

Canine Vaccination and Care Schedule:

  1. Canine Distemper, adenovirus, para influenza and parvo virus combination shot is administered at 6, 8, and 14 weeks with an annual booster.
  2. Rabies shot is given at 12 - 14 weeks of age with a second shot given in 1 year, and then boosters triannually after the initial two dose series.
  3. Canine deworming is recommended at 2, 4, 6, and 8 weeks of age and then biannually with periodic fecal examinations.
  4. Heartworm prevention, starts with an annual test in May followed by monthly preventives given from May through November.
  5. Flea and tick control as prescribed.

Feline Vaccination and Care Schedule

  1. Feline Distemper, Calici and Rhinotracheas combination shot is given at 8 and 14 weeks and then boostered annually.
  2. Feline leukemia shot is given at 9 and 14 weeks and then boostered annually.
  3. Rabies shot is given at 12 - 14 weeks of age with a second shot in 1 year and then boostered triannualy after the initial 2 dose series
  4. Dewormer is given at 2,4,6 and 8 weeks of age and then biannualy with periodic fecal examination.
  5. Flea and tick prevention as prescribed.
  6. Check for ear mites.

We encourage you to spay or neuter your pet between 4 and 8 months of age, or as soon a possible after that.
