Friends of the Animal Shelter is a newly organized non-profit group in Redwood County to assist with our local animal shelter and animal care education. One area of concern with the current shelter is it is over-crowded and unable to quarantine new arrivals. This is a hazard to the animals currently housed and already approved for adoption. The Friends of the Animal Shelter is in the process of seeking funds to replace the current facility, or perform a major renovation. New regulations necessitate a better facility to house the animals for their safety as well as the caregivers. If you would like to learn more about the Friends of the Animal Shelter, or request more information, please contact your City Clerk, or Ken Harmon, Animal Control Officer at ken@friendsoftheanimalshelter.com. You may also contact the Redwood County Law Enforcement Center at 507-637-4036 for additional information.
